Meme Marketing!

What do you meme? I'm sorry that was terrible...

But seriously, meme marketing is no joke and this is why you should consider it.

What is a meme? It's simply a visual image or short video with text, usually humours that comments on current events or social issues.

But what is meme marketing? It's a strong tool for your content strategy, plain and simple. Their is no cost to join in or create your own meme and it's a fun way for your brand to connect with your audience.

Where do memes come from? You can find them all over social media, but more so now on the most popular platform - TikTok. Even I've made a few! If you're aware of the 'Negroni' meme going around, check out my attempt. Of course, if you're reading this after October 2022 it's probably not funny anymore. Such is the speed that memes go in and out of fashion. You have to be quick to stay on the pulse!

Are memes suitable for every brand? No, if your target audience won't connect with the content then don't do it! If you run a legal firm and your audience are a lot older, I'd argue they won't appreciate memes, or at least a very small handful of them. I'm not saying that memes are not professional, not at all. There are many large brands that have harnessed the power of memes. A great example is Yorkshire Tea and their Tea-Tok account.

To cut a short story shorter - memes are a great way for your brand to connect with your audience. They can give your brand a personable and current impression to your audience, which could help keep your brand at the front of their mind!

As always, for this to work you need to understand your target audience and keep up with the latest trends!

If you're ready, got get your Tiktok started get memeing (not sure that's a word).
